Michele, I couldn't agree more. We take a lot of things for granite because we've been working in marketing, social media, whatever for so long. We have strong beliefs, but we don't test them and mould them enough. It's good to read blogs, books and articles from peers, integrate like-minded bits and explore new ideas. Sometimes it takes someone else's insight or personal experience to fit an idea in place.

A perspective from my banker: "My concerns with Mint (similar companies, services) revolve around security... We have systems and processors that are reviewed for compliance/security by FDIC and NCUA (as our providers supply services to banks/credit unions). We have never had an account compromised by internet access related services -- and we have had internet banking in place since 1999. In addition to that, Members' funds are insured by the federal government (NCUA) to $250,000 -- and we have insurance in place for losses from cyber-crimes.

Who is reviewing Mint for their security? If your account is compromised through Mint, will they reimburse you? ...and does it not tell you something that even I (as a President of a financial institution) cannot speak to someone at Mint to help resolve a problem that could potentially affect all our Members who would choose to use their service? ...and if your account is compromised through Mint, good luck getting in touch with them. Just food for thought.

I have only signed up with Mint to be knowledgeable enough to help Members who want to use their service. Otherwise I would not have done it -- and I would not promote it to Members. As for how many Members use Mint? - I don't know and I am sure that Mint would not tell me even if I could talk to someone there."

I actually was stalked thanks to mylife.com and it was not nice at all, it's scary and can truly mess you up no matter how strong you are. showing up at someone's residence, bullying someone online or any obsessive behavior towards someone who is not in the present time part of your life is absolutely WRONG

Wonderful blog posting. As someone who has left people I love for a new adventure, I understand your emotions. Congrats on your new position with Sentry. I am doing a keynote at Fusion 2012 and would love, to interview you about the role of social media in creating change within companies. Full credit to you during my talk. Contact me if interested. (I met you when I helped Hiebing with their strategy work. I'm a friend of Scott and Barry.) Best, k kay@plantescompany.com

I think the use of video is clever. And, its a new way for people to see a record of traffic stops, etc, that isn't based on vague wording. What discourages me is when officers are clearly lurking along popular streets and routinely pulling drivers over for minor infractions. When I walk my labradoodle at night, there is one street where flashing lights are continuous between 5-7pm as officers pull people over. Makes me think we've got too many officers for our small town,

In small towns if you are arrested or get in trouble it is printed in the newspaper. Always wondered was that really effective or did it just make it easier for folks to be self righteous?

We're looking for help on the unfollow topic, an were wondering whether we could enlist your expert opinions in the topic? We made the same request to this same post appearing in another web address, just to be certain we're reaching the right author.

In any case, we're specifically looking for
a) normal follow/unfollow percentages for blog type twitter feeds, and
A) reasons why our twitter feeds unfollow percentage is so high and how to lower them without growing our own feed to a too large degree

Here's some background.
We recently made a quick analysis on the unfollow percentages for our twitter account (@outsideviewblog) and noticed it being a whopping 55%! We've (me and none of the other contributors to the site) never noticed this type of percentage before in a business or strictly personal context.

Naturally, we being of the curious sort, we are looking for any reasons for this worrying figure (a new twitter trend, a huge move of 'follow baiters', us messing things up completely, etc.). Or could it be that, as you say, we should just follow everyone back who follows us?

We are gathering all info to :http://bit.ly/uQDm7i, (it has also some more info on the statistics).

If you have any insights on the topic, we would more than appreciate them!

Br,
Jussi P. @outsideviewblog
