Makes me want to signup for Entrustet. After taking a look at my social media accounts, the passwords, and all the content I have created and shared to date I am worried that no one will know what to do with me gone.

At the recent BarCamp Maidson, @gregtracy of sharendipity said that he believes he is leaving a living legacy for his children to document their activities and his thoughts and views on business and living.

My kids are older and don't seem to view my activity the same way as Greg views it. LOL

I googled my family members, and clicked the link regarding it and it had TONS of info on my whole family!! Here's my story:

I made a fake email and signed up, then claimed my "dad's" profile, which required me to answer questions to prove it was mine, and the questions were about my OLD HOME ADDRESSES. Even one that i haven't been to since i was in elementary school, which of course I couldn't remember. So guess what, I HAD UNLIMITED chances to try to get it in (from multiple choices that never randomized) I finally got it and I changed what info I could, like where we live currently, number etc.

I couldn't get more and I happened to have a friend who got suckered before me (how I heard about it in the first place), and she looked up the name and it had ALL sorts of stuff I barely knew about my dad myself such as his past marriage over 35 years ago (I'm 22) old jobs, ugh! What's worse is that there are multiple accounts for my mom, my sister and another one for my dad. If I truly have to pay to change the important stuff, I'm looking at 300 dollars mim. I'm going to do whatever power I have and get this place shutdown... Of course I'm sure it's on other websites as well... What's the use?

Troy,

Great post. I agree with you that at least two developments seem certain: 1. Facebook Places will drive innovation in this space and 2. How Facebook handles privacy will be key to adoption.

The check-in experience on Foursquare et al can evolve in a number of exciting ways. For example, an app could return content and discussion links based on the location. For example, if a user checks in at Home Depot, do they need help or advice? Despite the API they released, it remains to be seen how truly agnostic Facebook can be as the space innovates.

<a href="#comment-23" rel="nofollow">@Dare </a>
That may be so, but for something that said it was free and charges you 107.00 I don't think it is worth that much. I don't know where my head was when I gave them my CC info.

Posted by David Pisanick, via LinkedIn: Google missed the mark on the roll out. I know it was in Beta stage but it should have been rolled out to the masses. The invitation only part of Wave was what penultimately killed it, IMHO. I liked the concept of Google wave, especially for organizations that have employees working remotely. I don't think this will be the end of Wave -- I feel that we will see some morphed iteration of it in the near future.

Thanks for posting the article. I've seen the ads online and on television, and the service ALMOST seemed compelling. Thought I would check out what the buzz was on the service online, and I found all this great information to warn me. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity the easy and inexpensive way!
