I actually was stalked thanks to mylife.com and it was not nice at all, it's scary and can truly mess you up no matter how strong you are. showing up at someone's residence, bullying someone online or any obsessive behavior towards someone who is not in the present time part of your life is absolutely WRONG

"is it stalking to park across the street to visually ascertain that the
MyLife address is correct? He sees her and leaves. He then will either
show up at her front door to say hello, or he will mail a letter to her
postal address. In neither case does he intend to repeat these action
more than once. If the physical confrontation yields a sense that she is
afraid, uncomfortable or simply indifferent, he accepts the outcome and
does nothing more. If there is a sense of friendliness which he
misinterprets, it may be that a second contact will be neccessary for
him to see the picture clearly."

Hate to break it to you, but this is disturbing behavior to say the least. Just showing up at someone's door to ask her out is not cool. Mailing a letter is okay, but if you don't get a response, understand that she is NOT interested.

Also, obsessing about a girlfriend you had when you were 13 is pretty weird too. Especially since she's married and has a family. I've been contacted on Facebook by childhood friends/boyfriends, but just to catch up and talk about old times. Never had one write to tell me I'm his one true love. Sounds like you have some deep-seated issued, my friend.

It hurts me to see the term "...stalker in training..." used in such a generalized way. The generic tone suggests that there are multitudes of men who intend to physically or communicatively stalk a woman for whom they have perfectly normal feelings with no aggressive agenda of any sort. If a man sees a woman's address on "MyLife" and wants to verify that she does in fact live there, is it stalking to park across the street to visually ascertain that the MyLife address is correct? He sees her and leaves. He then will either show up at her front door to say hello, or he will mail a letter to her postal address. In neither case does he intend to repeat these action more than once. If the physical confrontation yields a sense that she is afraid, uncomfortable or simply indifferent, he accepts the outcome and does nothing more. If there is a sense of friendliness which he misinterprets, it may be that a second contact will be neccessary for him to see the picture clearly. Once he gains a clear interpretation of her demeanor, he backs off and leaves it at that. This is stalking? This is the behavior of an obsessed individual who cannot control his/her compulsion to pursue someone? Did it ever occur to you that 99% of the men using MyLife are in control of their behavior, regardless of how much they want the companionship of a woman whom they love? Your language suggests that many of us are being enabled to invade personal privacy.
If a man sees a woman at the workplace and wants to ask her for a date, does he not have to physically confront her at least one single time? If she says no and he never asks again, would you find a twisted logic to judge this as harrassment? Suppose he instead were to ask her at her front door? This is a sign that he will be following her wherever she goes, making endless phone calls and emails? You hear two news stories about a couple of nuts, each of whom covertly tresspassed on the property
of a woman to whom he was attracted or formerly married, followed by an interview with a lawyer and-or police detective, who describe all of the traits of a stalker as if the few whom they have apprehended have now endowed them with specialized knowledge of legions of unstable men.
By the way, you are 100% correct that MyLife is a a criminal operation. I too had to cancel and change my charge card. I consider it to have been worth the stress. In 1967-68 I fell in love with a thirteen year-old girl who was extremely affectionate toward me. Suddenly she lost interest. My memory of her has been an emotional burden of which I have been incapable of shedding. In short, she was "the one". I have not laid eyes on her since 1972. I found her address on MyLife and have been working for years on a letter to her. (I am trying to make it clear to her that I will never physically "appear", as she is married with children.)
The letter will say all of the things which I needed to say when I was thirteen, had I the words, the maturity, and the life experience to say that I would give my life to spend two years with her.

1st) My husband is in law enforcement and our privacy is extremely important, my life allows people to literally pull up your home address if they are a paying member EVEN if that info is not in your profile. I can't tell you how terrifying that is. 2nd) I found a profile set up for my father who died 15 yrs ago I found out that my life automatically pulled information from my profile that linked old public information for my dad and automatically created a profile. Utterly disturbing.

My stalker found me. In court he said he used mylife to find me. He said that this is the internet age and he will always be able to find me. He got probation and a restraining order. He never violates the restraining order but he has come 300 miles to my town and has been seen there by my friends several times since then. He's a terrorist, and so is mylife.

I'm very privacy oriented and have never signed up for any social networking sites let alone mylife. This seems criminal. My life has all kinds of information about me posted that I never gave them. It's impossible to delete.

"MyLife has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. According to the BBB, of the
1, 063 complaints received, 540 were given full refunds and 42 were given partial refunds. I guess this was satisfactory for the BBB, but it isn’t for me."

Exactly. The people shouldn't have been ripped off and made to fight for their money back in the first place. You are better off calling your local "fact finder" journalists ("7 on your side" etc) than BBB if you want to put some sting into it.

Mylife.com is even worse then this! I have several family members that don't even use any form of social networking at all and don't even post personal data on the internet. Yet somehow mylife.com has profiles on them. I'm not even sure if they can remove those profiles as THEY NEVER CREATED AN ACCOUNT! They have NEVER used reunion.com or wink.com either. The people who own these websites need to be put in jail.

After agreeing to a 6 month (SIX MONTH) membership @ $11.75 & submitting my Visa card number I discove two days later that MyLife.com has charged my account with $71.70 !!
What kind of scam are they running ?? Theft & misrepresentation to say the least !! I now feel like a fool because they have my card number for future references !

I googled my family members, and clicked the link regarding it and it had TONS of info on my whole family!! Here's my story:

I made a fake email and signed up, then claimed my "dad's" profile, which required me to answer questions to prove it was mine, and the questions were about my OLD HOME ADDRESSES. Even one that i haven't been to since i was in elementary school, which of course I couldn't remember. So guess what, I HAD UNLIMITED chances to try to get it in (from multiple choices that never randomized) I finally got it and I changed what info I could, like where we live currently, number etc.

I couldn't get more and I happened to have a friend who got suckered before me (how I heard about it in the first place), and she looked up the name and it had ALL sorts of stuff I barely knew about my dad myself such as his past marriage over 35 years ago (I'm 22) old jobs, ugh! What's worse is that there are multiple accounts for my mom, my sister and another one for my dad. If I truly have to pay to change the important stuff, I'm looking at 300 dollars mim. I'm going to do whatever power I have and get this place shutdown... Of course I'm sure it's on other websites as well... What's the use?

@Dare
That may be so, but for something that said it was free and charges you 107.00 I don't think it is worth that much. I don't know where my head was when I gave them my CC info.
